Hyderabadi Cuisine: Kheer Poori (Rava Kheer)

It is quite popular not only among Muslims who make kheer puri's for Niaz, but Hindus too who enjoy it during Ganesh Chaturthi and such other festivals.
But in our family we don't need a reason to make sweets at home 😝, and kheer poori is one of the simplest and yummiest sweet of all time. While rice kheer is quite usually made with poori but it requires little more effort, thus for instant treat I prefer equally delicious and mouth watering Rava Kheer.

Ingredients: Rava Kheer

  • Full Cream Milk, 2 litres
  • Rava or sooji, 1 cup
  • Ghee, 2 tblspn
  • Sugar, 300 gms
  • Cardamom powder, 1 tspn
  • Dry fruits, finely sliced, to garnish
  • Raisins, 7-10
Serves: 4
Recipe Type: Desserts

Recipe:
  • Firstly, take a wide deep pan.
  • Add milk to it. Let it come to a boil.
  • Meanwhile, take a fry pan.
  • Add ghee.
  • Fry dry fruits, till golden brown. Make sure not to burn them. It takes few seconds. Take them out on a plate.
  • Now, in the same ghee, add rava.
  • Roast rava till nice aroma comes out of it.
  • Take it out in a plate.
  • Now, see if milk has come to a boil.
  • Add sugar and raisins, simmer well.
  • If you want slightly more on the sweeter side, adjust adding more sugar.
  • Now, when sugar is well dissolved and you have checked the sweetness, add roasted rava little by little. Add it from one hand and mix it with spoon with other hand to make sure there are no lumps. Keep flame on high.
  • Let it cook well, till it reaches the desired consistency. Remember that once it cools down it thickenes.
  • Add fried dry fruits and cardamom powder.
  • Simmer for 10 mins and switch off the flame.
  • Serve it with poori.

Ingredients: Poori
  • Wheat flour, 3-4 cups
  • Salt, a pinch
  • Ghee, 2 tblspn
  • Warm milk, 1/2 cup
  • Water, to knead the dough
  • Oil, to fry poori

Recipe:
  • Knead the dough with warm milk and water.
  • Add melted ghee, salt and knead it tight and firm. It shouldn't be soft like chapati dough.
  • Now take small portion from the dough, make small balls and roll it into a thick circle. It shouldn't be too thick or thin like chapati.
  • Make the rest the same way.
  • Now take a big wok, add oil to fry poori's.
  • Once oil is hot, fry poori's one by one on both the sides till golden brown. Take them out on a paper towel to remove excess oil.
  • Serve it with kheer.
  • Enjoy 😊😘

Fair & Lovely Multivitamin Face Wash Review

Fair & Lovely is an old age brand, it was the only brand back then which was quite popular in beauty industry. Then, so many other beauty brands came in the race and made it easier for people to choose from wide range. Fair & Lovely Multivitamin Face Wash's ad, I am sure all of us have seen that. So, let's have a brief review of this popular face wash.
INR 65 for 60gm

Packaging:

The Fair & Lovely Face Wash comes in a flip top tube packaging which is easy to carry. It comes in its typical white and pink tube like of its fairness cream.

Texture:

The face wash has a white creamy texture like that of a cream. A little works well all over face & neck.

What It Claims:

Fair & Lovely fairness face wash gives you the 3 step expert action, which Cleanses, Exfoliates and Massages with Multi Vitamin formula.

My Experience With Fair & Lovely Multivitamin Face Wash:

Well, I bought it during winter as no face wash was working well for me during the dry winters. I saw this at a beauty shop and thought to give it a try.
Its creamy texture lathers very well over skin and one need only a pea sized amount to wash her face.
However, when I used it during winters, it made my skin more dry, it is not at all hydrating, but it cleanses skin quite well and gives little brighter effect instantly for some time. Since, it was not hydrating to my skin and was stripping the remaining oil I had on face so I kept it to for summer use..
Now, when I used it in summers, it really worked well in cleansing my skin. It is not for dry skin girls or a winter face wash.
It gives squeky clean skin and cleanses dirt and oil well.
So all in all I would say it works well for oily skin girls and dry skin beautifies should avoid it as it mattifies the skin.

Pros:

  • Affordable and Easily Available.
  • Cleanses dirt and oil.
  • Good for oily Skin.
  • Brightens face (for some time)

Cons:
  • Not for dry skin and not a winter face wash.

Whether I would Purchase it Again?
May be, I dont Know. I prefer hydrating face washes so even after washing, my skin should have little moisture remained, not completely mattified.
